The Nursing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring 24/7 hospital operations by handling nursing staffing, patient admissions/placement, and assignments and providing clinical expertise and nursing leadership to the employees.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the improvement and excelling of consistent patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrates credibility and knowledge of the nursing department’s goals, performance of nursing skills, and mission.
  • Inspires others to meet role expectations with excellence in providing nursing care.
  • Performs all nursing skills and procedures according to established criteria of competent practice.
  • Assesses the employee’s learning needs to improve patient and family care needs.
  • Interprets policies and procedures and coordinates all patient care activities.
  • Assists in the evaluation of nursing service and personnel performance.
  • Provides leadership and direction in changing and crisis situations.
  • Manages conflicting demands from physicians, outside entities, and hospital employees.
  • Stays in constant communication with employees, patients, outside entities, and leadership.
  • Provides direct clinical care based on the shift worked, i.e., rapid responses, codes, etc., as required.

 

Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

 

Experience:
Seven years nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.

 

Licensure/Certification:
Valid Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) license required.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and be on foot for long periods of time. Must be able to tolerate PPE for long periods of time.
