Full job description
JOB PURPOSE: The Staff Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: general ledger accountability, financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and special projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Participate in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with information gathering for audits and taxes.
- Maintain account reconciliations ensuring accuracy of balances.
- Manage general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
- Ability to multitask in order to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
- Assist with preparation of the annual budget.
- May assist with invoice processing and annual 1099s.
- Additional duties as assigned within scope of practice.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors in accounting, finance, or related field; or an associate degree and 4 years of accounting work experience (required).
- Previous experience as an Accountant (preferred).
- Healthcare experience (preferred).
