As part of TCEQ Administrative Services, you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide – the business foundation for the whole agency. See details about what we do.

 

This position is a member of our Financial Administration Division.

 

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Enter revenue receipt transactions into the accounts receivable system. Review and identify proper fee classifications and revenue coding for revenue receipts, and post to appropriate accounts.
  • Assist the Head Cashier in coordinating office workflow, and in reviewing and closing procedures for daily deposits.
  • Audis and distribute accounting receipts, reports, and incoming mail. Make electronic copies of incoming revenue, with sequential endorsement receipt tracking numbers.
  • Prepare deposits in accordance with federal and state rules and agency policies and procedures; enters deposit transactions to appropriate spreadsheets and logs.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience classifying, coding, and/or entering revenue transactions into an accounts receivable system.
  • Experience using a 10-key or a computer keyboard.
Qualifications


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

90 semester hours from an accredited college or university, to include 6 semester hours in accounting, finance, or economics.

OR

60 semester hours from an accredited college or university, to include 6 semester hours in accounting, finance, or economics; plus, one year of experience where the majority of time was spent in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.

OR

Three years of experience where the majority of time was spent in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Accountant II state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Accountant II series.

 

Work Schedule

Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Financial Administration Division.
