Scope of Responsibility:
Responsible for ensuring accurate product costing and inventory accounting for a manufacturing plants in Kennedale, Tx. Support department managers, supervisors, and Controller with requests for financial information and provide timely information on plant metrics. Position requires interaction with all levels of personnel across multiple facilities and the ability to work independently.
Essential Duties:
- Collaborate with the Controller and plant management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations, and lead the development of complex analysis.
- Serve as partner to production teams in identifying and developing various reports and analyzing variances to drive efficiencies and information needs across the company.
- Research and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor and verify accurate inventory transactions.
- Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger and maintain accurate Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods Inventories.
- Ensure that completed jobs are closed and costed correctly.
- Plan and manage monthly cycle count and annual physical inventories.
- Maintain integrity of cost accounting records in company ERP and accounting system.
- Prepare monthly journal entries as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Inventory Cost Experience in a multi-site, manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of manufacturing job costing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel required.
- An understanding of GAAP in relation to inventory.
- Excellent communication, detail analytical and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
