As an accounting and financial reporting specialist on the Reinsurance Accounting team, you’ll execute and account for low to medium-complexity reinsurance contracts. You’ll prepare journal entries and account reconciliations and perform company close analysis. In this role, you’ll monitor contract, accounting, and financial reporting changes, while maintaining compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements. In addition, you’ll collaborate with a various departments and business units, providing expertise to internal and external customers alike. You’ll use professional accounting and financial reporting concepts and apply company policies and procedures to complete accounting and financial reporting responsibilities.
In addition to the minimum requirements for the role, the candidate must meet requirements to work in the General Ledger. Those General Ledger requirements include the completion of Principles of Accounting I and II -or- Financial Accounting I and II.
This is a hybrid role located in Mayfield Village, OH.
Must-have qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g., Finance)
Preferred skills
  • Basic knowledge of reinsurance and /or statutory accounting
  • Experience with audit procedures, month-end close procedures, and account reconciliations
  • Experience with Workday, Prima XL, ProStar, SAP BusinessObjects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (i.e. Excel, Word)
  • A strong desire to enhance processes, drive efficiencies, and foster innovation within our organization

Compensation

  • $52,600 – $65,800/year depending on position level
  • Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance and position level
