The Norfolk Community Services Board (NCSB) provides treatment, support, and education to the community with a focus on mental illness, substance use disorders, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and housing and homelessness. Norfolk CSB provides services to persons in acute crisis as well as integrated, person-centered, and recovery-oriented programming for persons needing assistance and support stabilizing in the community.
Today, the NCSB provides treatment and rehabilitation services to over 6,000 Norfolk citizens yearly. The NCSB is seeking an Accountant I to perform professional work related to maintaining financial information and preparing financial statements in a health care environment with multiple funding sources and service components.
Essential Functions
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Prepares accounts payable and purchasing documents, reviews for accuracy and approval, and posts in accounting system.
- Prepares and posts journal entries involving expenditure and revenue items to the general ledger.
- Prepares cash receipts and cash journals.
- Checks in and verifies deposits.
- Analyzes financial data and prepares reports.
- Delivers deposits to bank and City Hall, picks up checks from City Finance.
- Sorts and distributes unit mail.
- Maintains financial files.
Education/Experience
Six months as a staff accountant.
