Responsibilities:

• Manage the Accounting staff, including assigning and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and encourage individual career development.
• Participate in the timely and accurate publishing of month-end financial statements including analysis that explains company performance.
• Manage and be hands-on in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries for multiple entities, while adhering to a strict close schedule.
• Lead high-volume accounts payable team with a focus on a timely and accurate payments process.
• Manage the accounts receivable and collection processes including daily and weekly reporting.
• Improve operational processes with key business partners through process redesign, procedure development, and reporting enhancements.
• Play a key role in the implementation of systems related to the accounting function.
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax and annual property tax filings.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting management experience including a prior role as Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• Motivating team leader able to manage and complete a wide variety of complex accounting duties and projects.
• Strong analytical and advanced Excel spreadsheet skills.
• Strong ERP/financial system skills and experience with a variety of systems.
• A driven, continuous improvement and control mindset with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Highest attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proven knowledge and application of GAAP.
• Experience in industries such as retail, manufacturing, or services with multi-state locations.
• Hands-on, results-oriented manager that can both manage and assist in every function as needed to get the job done and address areas of opportunity to improve accounting operations.
• Experience managing accounting teams of 5 employees or more.
• Experienced in managing financial operations for a multi-entity organization.
• Ability to work full-time on-site from our Support Center in Folsom, CA, with travel to company locations and off-site locations as needed to achieve business objectives.
