Position Overview & General Responsibilities:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Corporate Accountant to join our administrative team at Sunnyside. In this role, you’ll support key accounting functions, including deferred revenue forecasting, fixed asset tracking, and financial reporting, while also providing leadership to our Accounts Payable team. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager and CFO, helping ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations across all Sunnyside Corporate & its three communities.
- Maintain and manage deferred revenue forecast systems and reconciliations
- Track and maintain depreciation schedules using the Fixed Asset software system
- Oversee the Accounts Payable team and support Accounts Receivable processes
- Process electronic payments and resident bank drafts for monthly billing
- Prepare monthly sales tax reports and assist with financial audits
- Serve as system backup for Accounts Payable and Receivable modules
- Maintain charitable gift annuity records and process payments
- Generate financial reports using Excel and other tools as needed
- Assist with special projects and support financial operations across Sunnyside’s campuses
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all aspects of financial data handling
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or Associate’s with 4+ years of relevant experience)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to learn and manage internal systems (AP, AR, Fixed Assets, etc.)
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices, especially regarding entrance fees and revenue recognition
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel to campuses as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and provide exceptional customer service
