Job Summary
Develops and calculates company’s standard cost for finished product and commodity costs. Establishes labor and overhead rates for six manufacturing sites. Assists in new product development by ensuring that all costs are considered before sales team finalizes pricing. Reviews and reports on variances to established standards.
MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Calculate and roll standard costs for manufactured products.
- Create standard costs for new products and partner with commercial teams to ensure accurate margins for new product.
- Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability
- Work with IT department to develop feasibility study to move cost accounting to new ERP system
- Prepare collateral reports as needed.
- Prepare audit reports related to manufacturing and inventory variances.
- Assist in the budget process for cost development of raw materials & energy usage.
- Establish annual labor & overhead rates for diverse manufacturing sites.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Light Travel Required: <25%
EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:
Require a bachelor’s degree in accounting
4+ years of experience in manufacturing with a prior focus on cost accounting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
Experience with JD Edwards and AS400 preferred.
Strong communication skills
