Senior Accountant
Location: Jackson, MI
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: CFO

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and help drive financial excellence across our organization.
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity by managing accounting systems, processes, and reporting. This role requires a proactive and analytical professional with a strong understanding of ERP systems, job costing, and financial reporting.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote Orbitform’s Purpose, Vision, and Values
- Oversee setup, monitoring, and maintenance of the ERP system to ensure accurate general ledger and financial statement entries
- Maintain controls to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions and prevent errors or fraud
- Manage reporting systems, dashboards, and financial scorecards
- Lead monthly and accrual-based financial closings and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial packages for internal and external stakeholders
- Review job and standard costing data; provide feedback and monitor variances
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on collections
- Assist with the annual budgeting process and capital expenditure tracking
- Provide financial analysis and support as requested
- Oversee accuracy of accounts payable and support various administrative accounting functions
- Supervise and manage department staff including performance and hiring decisions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a plant accounting role
- Strong ERP system experience and financial reporting skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop team members
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This role is primarily office-based but may require time in a manufacturing environment. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and extended time at a computer may be necessary.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, standard business hours with occasional evening work based on business needs.
