Summary:
OIA Global is seeking a Senior GL Accountant with a strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting standards to support its Supply Chain Management (SCM) business group. Leveraging your solid foundation in numbers and GAAP, you’ll be able to identify what the numbers should reflect and how to achieve that outcome. You’ll also be adept at explaining technical accounting concepts to non-accountants and supporting various departments in understanding their financials. This role reports to the Financial Controller SCM.
Location: We’re open to candidates located in either the Portland, Oregon area or Monterrey, Mexico.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the month-end close process
  • Perform routine balance sheet account reconciliations and record related journal entries
  • Prepare reports for key external customers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to review monthly financials, with a strong focus on COGS and Inventory
  • Support and maintain internal auditing procedures
  • Assist and provide support during external audits
  • Continuously seek efficiencies and opportunities for process improvement
  • Help resolve complex issues within the finance and accounting departments
  • Partner with the SCM business group to provide analysis and insights into gross profit and expenses
  • Participate in the implementation of an order management (operations) system
  • Assist in the preparation of relevant local tax returns and regulatory filings
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed to support the business

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, fundamental finance metrics, and internal controls
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data and maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Ability to identify trends within high transaction volumes
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid skills in other Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with counterparts across different time zones
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong team player, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • CPA or CPA candidate a plus
  • Experience with Workday Financials or Oracle Fusion a plus
  • Experience in the supply chain industry a plus
