JOB PURPOSE: The Staff Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: general ledger accountability, financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and special projects as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Participate in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Assist with information gathering for audits and taxes.
  • Maintain account reconciliations ensuring accuracy of balances.
  • Manage general ledger and assist month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
  • Ability to multitask in order to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual budget.
  • May assist with invoice processing and annual 1099s.
  • Additional duties as assigned within scope of practice.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in accounting, finance, or related field; or an associate degree and 4 years of accounting work experience (required).
  • Previous experience as an Accountant (preferred).
  • Healthcare experience (preferred).
