Full job description
The Athletic Business Office Staff Accountant position acts as an accounting liaison between the Athletic Department and the Controller’s Office and other departments and external agencies with respect to financial reporting and compliance, journal entry preparation, audit/reconciliation of accounts, and audit of requests for payment. This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing all types of athletic transactions in compliance with approved athletic budgets and University/department procedures, preparation of reports as needed for analysis, corresponding with other departments concerning athletic accounting and financial information, and determining proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution
OR
2. Bachelor’s degree in business-related field from an accredited institution AND two years of related work experience in the field of accounting services
OR
2. Bachelor’s degree in business-related field from an accredited institution AND two years of related work experience in the field of accounting services
Preferred Qualifications
1. Masters degree in Accounting
