We are seeking a tech-savvy, detail-oriented Accounting & Tax Assistant to support our growing client base. This hybrid role includes daily bookkeeping tasks, monthly financial prep, and seasonal tax return support. You’ll be a key part of a small, collaborative team committed to excellent service and long-term client success. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting

  • Record and reconcile transactions.
  • Payroll and Sales Tax
  • Maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports.
  • Organize and manage client data in CRM.
  • Communicate with clients regarding missing or unclear transactions

Tax Preparation Support

  • Organize and scan client tax documents.
  • Prepare business and personal tax returns.
  • Track deadlines for extensions and estimated tax payments.
  • Assist with e-filing and follow-up communications.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and research tax issues.
  • Answer calls and emails from clients in a timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • General proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Quality communication between staff and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles with a focus on accounting, budgeting, and tax accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements and general ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $70,005.66 per year
