Role Description
The Senior Tax Analyst reports to the VP of Tax & Treasury and works with accounting and outside consultants for timely completion and filing of the company’s various direct and indirect tax filings, including, but not limited to, sales & use tax, property tax, excise tax, annual reports, and corporate income tax payments/mailings, as well as performing research on tax issues when necessary.
Role Responsibilities
What you will do to contribute to the company’s success:

- Prepare monthly/quarterly state sales & use tax returns and file with tax authorities in a timely manner.
- Work with the accounting group to make sure tax payments are made
- Maintain workpapers to support the sales/use tax filings and for review.
- Monitor and prepare property tax returns and make payments as needed
- Prepare monthly Canadian HST tax returns.
- Prepare other miscellaneous tax-related filings—OH CAT, FBAR, etc.
- Prepare month-end tax journal entries and reconciliations related to tax responsibilities.
- Monitor and track tax authority notices—resolve and respond as needed
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in sales and use tax compliance
- Update fixed asset records in FMIS software—prepare depreciation reports
- Assist with compiling information needed for preparation of the corporate income tax filings
- Provide assistance and support to others within the tax group as needed
Qualifications

- Minimum of a bachelor’s (B.A.) degree in Finance/Accounting with basic understanding of journal entries
- 3+ years of indirect tax experience in a multi-state operations environment.
- Prior experience with SAP and OneStream is helpful but not required
- A strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in a changing environment
